The Real New York City

...god bless graffiti...

I Have Just One Thing To Say..."Seriously?????"

(photo courtesy of Jason Speenburgh..with much love and gratitude)

What is the reason for this phenomenon. It just looks ridiculous and can't be comfortable!

"Can I Walk?"

broken signs in Astoria

This Would Never Happen in New York City

In the Boston subway (or the "T", as they call it), we actually saw this suggestion box. In New York City, they would NEVER care about suggestions...

...Just Wrong...

I Don't Know About You, But This Would Take Me Five Years To Do...

Does This Make You Horny???

...Ya gotta love Provincetown...

A Little Conflicting...

Vegans, vegetarians and big-time carnivores...
living in harmony at Karoo Kafe...
in Provincetown

I'd Open an Account Here...

We saw this bank in Provincetown..I am sure they get a lot of deposits...

Things That Every Woman Must Need...

..As seen on TV...they sent me a catalogue of all of their stuff and there is quite the personal sexual aids catagory so I thought I would send a link of the web page because it's kind of hilarious, if you think about it.

Oh, red bull

We saw this line of red bull mini coopers sitting in a parking lot in a gas station near Fenway park in Boston.

Shoes up in the air

How did they all get up there? It seems like people in new York like to throw their shoes up on the wires outside, though this is the most that I have ever seen yet.

Funny pet nicknames

Isn't it funny the voices that we use when talking to pets and babies? I wonder what they are thinking....what's even worse are that the strange nicknames that we call them are probably confusing the hell out of them. We call our dog Jessie a lot of different names...some of them are: Boo, jiboo, jaaboo, jabootle, bootlebot, gurl, grrilla...

I thought Easter was over!

We went to the dog park last Saturday and all of the dogs were running around playing. Then this woman comes in with her two little dogs and one of them was PINK. She acted like it was no big deal and the dog was really sweet and shy (probably because she knew that she was PINK).

Boobies!

Right in Battery Park, at the bottom of Manhattan, sits this funky sculpture, which, as we all can see, looks like a nicely-shaped pair of boobs....

Another World in New York City

This is an Irish Memorial built in remembrance of the potato famine from 1846-1850 where 1.5 million people died. It is a strange, but beautiful piece of art...

Does this mean

In Case Someone Gets Thirsty??

Someone left an open can coke sitting on the floor on the train. This is nothing new. People do it all of the time. While I usually find it annoying that people are too lazy to throw their trash away, I finally see the amusing part of it. Did they leave it there because they are actually trying to be considerate?? Maybe a homeless person is thirsty and has a craving for some coke (the drink...) and all they would have to do while sleeping on the train is to look down and it's an easy reach...

Who let in the rain?

Worried that she might get a drop of water on her head, this woman opted for the biggest tank of an umbrella that she could possibly find. Someone should have told her that she could still get splashed by a crazy-ass cab...

City Dollars Hard at Work

They look like furniture that someone is throwing out...

They look like abstract art...

They look like obstacles on the sidewalk...

..but they really look like shit.

What are they???

"Convenience" Store Porn???

What the ????...

We saw this little guy in the window
at a convenience store where I was buying a lottery ticket.

Hurry up!

After three years of living in the same neighborhood,
I just noticed this sign the other day.
I had to look at it a few times to see if
I could make sense out of it..
...and still...
...no...

Caught in the Act

SPY CAM

It's always fun catching people in compromising positions...

Mcdonalds on the Brooklyn Bridge??

When you see arches, what's the first thought that comes to mind? Could it be that greasy, disgusting institution Mcdonalds?? Damn you, brooklyn bridge...

Keep on Walking....

I can't stand here??? What's this all about? The first time I ever saw this sign, I remember looking around thinking, "how can they tell me where to stand?" without realizing that it was telling cars that they can't stop here...duh...

~ Get Trashy! ~

So, I was wondering...where should I put the dog poop????

Originally, there were trash cans on each corner of the street, but they disappeared one by one and now there is only this one lonely little can that obviously can't do the job by itself...

"Better Watch Your Step!"

In the backstreets of Astoria, New York, there's a lot of things to trip on, besides your own two feet!

WAZZZZUP?????

A Random Find

When I was getting into the elevator one night at work, I saw this just sitting on the floor inside the elevator...it just seemed so random...

Put Your Cans in the Can

If you go to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and go to the famous Reading Street Terminal, you will find these recycling trash cans for your bottles...

You Can Never Have TOO Much Heart!

We saw this in a window display in Philadelphia. I remember having to do a double-take to see what those things were before realizing that they were actually hearts!

Upside Down

Wonderworks, a museum in Orlando, Florida looks like an upside down house with a ton of interactive exhibits http://www.wonderworksonline.com/html/

Did the Dingo REALLY Eat Her Baby?

Everyone knows about the story of the woman in Australia who claimed that a dingo ate her baby, right? It was called "A Cry in the Dark", starring Meryl Streep. Well, when we went to Australia, we were told not to feed these wild dogs because they become aggressive, though you couldn't tell just by looking at them. They look like regular tame dogs. We saw this one on Fraser Island...

The Woodstock Zone

Visiting the town of Woodstock, NY is like stepping into The Twilight Zone. At the town center, there's always something going on. The times that I have been up there, they were having some strange drum ritual...

..Even Kangaroos Do "IT"

...birds do it...
....bees do it....

Even the marsupials..
...do "it"...

..and the people LOVE
to watch them!

I like to take pictures!

Right Out of a Horror Movie...

Sculptures by the Sea in Sydney, Australia displays art sculptures all along the beach every year. All of it is really trippy (not to sound like an American Idol judge!).

PLEASE DON'T

Please don't buy dogs from pet stores because you will be supporting inhumane dog factories, otherwise known as "puppy mills", where dogs are mass-produced for profit and many die or have serious diseases. It also takes away the hope for the thousands upon thousands of dogs that get euthanised every single day at animal shelters. If you want a dog, go rescue one! On top of saving yourself a lot of money, you will be rescuing a life, and they will show you how thankful they are with all of the love...
THANK YOU!

The Waving Kitty Phenomenon

Maneki Neko is it's real name, but I like to call it the waving kitty because its arm moves up and down. Apparently, it's a japanese sculpture that owners use for good luck. I am amused by it...I wonder if it keeps the mice away...

13th Floor

So, right now I am working at AXA Equitable and we work on the 13th Floor. I had no idea that there were actually buildings that had a 13th floor. I work the third shift and there's rarely ever anyone else up there, except for the three of us. I won't lie...it feels a little bizarre. Don't get me wrong...I am not superstitious, but if I was, would it matter??

Urinals

Am I the only one that thinks it's weird standing at a urinal, staring at the wall, while relieving yourself...and of course, the unwritten law is that you don't speak while peeing. If someone does, it is frowned upon...These urinals were at the Sheraton Hotel in Sydney, Australia.

Nasty Fingers

Have you ever looked at your finger up close? Mine's pretty nasty!

Obama Metrocard

We went to Washington DC a few weeks ago, and when I bought a metrocard for the subway, I got one with a picture of President Obama. I thought that was pretty cool!

Bathroom Walls

Have you ever noticed the weird obscenities on public bathroom walls. Here in New York, you see all kinds of weirdness...some public places even capitalize on bathroom graffity. I am intrigued....
